Fashion Festival: department store purchasers seek opportunities |

| The fashion fair is the core part of the fashion festival. The fashion fair has many new faces, including CEOs RGB LED controller and managers of some renowned domestic department stores. Mr. Zhou Jinjun is a vice manager of the commodities department of the Hefei Baisheng Plaza. Upon entering the hall, he is busy looking at the sample clothes displayed at the booths. He comes to Ningbo this time to introduce some fashion brands to his store. Zhou Jinjun, vice manager, commodities dept, Hefei Baisheng Plaza, Square Ceiling Light says: “We just want to have a look at the festival and want to introduce some new brands. We attach great importance to Ningbo as it is a production base of garments.” Representatives of some 120 supermarkets, chain stores and department stores in China have attended the fair, including Wangfujin and Pacific Department Store, all wanting to choose cooperative partners. To invite domestic department stores to participate in the fair is the first time in the festival. The global financial crisis that started last year has exerted grave impact on the export business of garments of Ningbo, thus has made companies attach more importance to the domestic market. The Seduno Group of Ningbo, which has been engaged in OEM for 15 years, has designed a brand for children’s clothes named Babi-Lele that target the domestic market. Mr. Li, Marketing Supervisor, Babi-Lele Children’s Clothes: “The circumstances under which we developed such a brand are that we were having a grave impact of the financial crisis. We wanted to seek a new growth point. “ The FIOCCO Group which has been engaged in export processing developed the brand FIOCCO themselves and has opened about 20 franchised stores across the country. They expect to open up more markets in the country by attending the fair. Yang Suhong, Vice president of FIOCCO Group: We companies doing brands need to keep in touch with department stores and purchasers. This year we have invited them to the fair. I think it is a good starting point. It will help us a lot when we open franchised stores. The organizing committee has invited purchasers of department stores in China and organized them to inspect the Ningbo garment companies. They believe that this move can bring about many opportunities for Ningbo companies to explore the domestic market. |
