The international community has provided assistance to Chile, where a magnitude 8.8 tremor hit the city had promised the second largest of Concepcion, which left over 711 people lost their lives while rescue workers tried desperately stainless steel hose to find other survivors during the first 72 hours after the earthquake. 

Meanwhile, looting has been reported in Concepcion, and parts of the capital Santiago. 

On Monday, the UN said the international community has asked Chile to help, and that the international aluminum core organization is prepared to carry out rescue operations in Chile and to help rebuild the country.
 
The Chinese government has decided to offer 1 million U.S. dollars in humanitarian aid to Chile, Yao Jian, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce said Monday.

Yao said the Chinese Government has followed closely the developments in Chile, and provide various forms of humanitarian assistance to meet the needs of areas affected by the earthquake.

Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan Hirofumi Hirano said Monday that his country will offer 3 million U.S. dollars in emergency aid and supplies valued at up to 30 million yen (336,000 dollars) in Chile, and the scenes of emergency water purification and generators.

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said that (the EU is capable of 3 million, or approximately 4 million U.S. dollars), is to provide immediate needs after the devastating earthquake in Chile.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies are committed, 300,000 francs Press (279,000 U.S. --
Dollars) of emergency funds to assist in the relief efforts in Chile.
